Frequently asked questions about TinyPractice
Is TinyPractice HIPAA compliant?
TinyPractice stores all data locally on your device — nothing is transmitted to servers or stored in the cloud. This eliminates the most common HIPAA risks (data breaches, unauthorized server access). However, HIPAA compliance also depends on your own practices: device passcode, physical security, and how you handle backups. TinyPractice is a tool that supports compliance, not a substitute for it.
What happens if I lose my phone?
Since data is stored locally, a lost phone means lost data unless you've created a backup. TinyPractice includes a JSON backup feature — we recommend backing up regularly and storing the file somewhere secure.
Is there an Android version?
Not yet. TinyPractice is iPhone only for now. Drop us a note if you want Android — it helps us prioritize what to build next.
Can I switch from SimplePractice or TherapyNotes to TinyPractice?
There's no automatic import. You'd need to re-enter your active clients manually. For a solo practitioner with 5–20 clients, that's usually 15–30 minutes of setup.
